Telstar will become part of Syntegon after an acquisition process closed between Azbil Corporation and the German company which has been announced by both firms. Telstar expresses that the company takes a very positive view about the incorporation into a business leader whose strategy is fully aligned with Telstar’s development plan. For Telstar, it represents an opportunity to maintain and grow the business, which entirely fits to Syntegon’s core business. 

In this new stage, Telstar will share their talent and knowledge in the field of development of new innovative high-value solutions for aseptic production to reinforce synergies operating within common markets and to strengthen Syntegon’s offering for filling lines and aseptic processes for the pharmaceutical industry. Telstar also places value on sharing with Syntegon a close business culture as a consequence of geographical and cultural proximity. 

After leading the Life Science Engineering business division of Azbil during more than 11 years, Telstar also expresses its gratitude to the Japanese Corporation for their support throughout this time, during which Telstar has reached a more solid and stable structure, in addition of reinforcing innovation activity arised from solid synergies experienced in the R&D field. 

After the Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) signed the 6^th of June 2024, the acquisition will be effective after receiving customary regulatory approvals.

How it works?

Telstar Insights runs simultaneously data collection, processing, and analysis, comparing assets of the same type in similar production condition, even from different sources, using analytical and big data tools through a multi-tenant Internet of Things (IoT) platform. In this way, the multiuser platform Insights can analyse a substantial quantity of aggregated information & functional data, allowing the users to increase the level of knowledge on their own equipment. In addition of potential improvement proposals provided by Telstar own subject matters experts which are relying on benchmarking the behaviour of other similar equipment in operation in the market. Breakthrough innovations

At Interphex we will also be promoting new developments in both in line management devices and process analytical technology for pharmaceutical freeze-drying systems. Telstar Sublime, an innovative system capable of monitoring the advance of the sublimation front in real time in GMP freeze-dryers. It is a single-use probe, containing 5 independent temperature sensors which are placed within the vial, including wireless communication, able to monitor the advance of the sublimation front accurately, key to optimize the primary drying steps in lyophilization processes. In addition to this, Lyogistics Smart Format, a new system using a single mobile platform configured to automatically fit a wide range of vial sizes without the need to disrupt the isolated enclosure. There is no need for manual operations inside the aseptic area when changing formats, and no line clearance operations are required. Finally, Lyogistics Zero the only automatic vial loading & unloading system for freeze-drying processes which can be cleaned (CIP) and sterilized (SIP) in place, inside the freeze-dryer chamber, and Lyogistics Smart R3, an automated inline vial management device able to reject, reintroduce and retrieve vials during loading / unloading process into pharmaceutical freeze-dryers.

Xavier Gomez, Product Manager at Telstar will be presenting the Lyogistics Smart Format within GMP Pharma Congress Conference. He will address the issues in setting-up an automatic line to load and unload GMP freeze dryers with multiple formats under isolation technology, as well as the procedures to introduce multiple formats, cleaning, sanitization, and line clearance. He will also analyse pros and cons of having multiple formats ready to use inside the isolator versus the introduction of formats at the time of use, in addition of risks of contamination. This presentation is programmed within the session on Lyophilization and Modern Techniques & New Requirements which will take place on Tuesday 19th March between 15.45h – 16.30h.
