SAS Pass Through Boxes

The requirements for processes involved in the manufacture of pharmaceutical and similar regulated products are becoming increasingly demanding, which in turn requires the use of equipment to guarantee the quality of final product. Our SAS systems are specifically designed for the safe transfer of materials between different classified areas. Telstar SAS systems can be configured to bio-decontaminate the materials being transferred; thereby reducing the burden on the exit atmosphere. Pass-Through Hatches are available in standard models and sizes however the design of these equipment enables them to be customised to suit almost any footprint.

We offer several types of SAS.

Biological SAS ION HP+

Floor-standing pass-through hatch with an air-tight transfer chamber with an inflatable gasket, on-board fans, filtration system, interlocked doors, and an integrated ionHP+ (Ionised Hydrogen Peroxide) bio decontamination system. The unit is used for the sanitisation of materials when being introduced into an aseptic production facility or taken out from a bio-decontaminated area.

An ionHP+ hydrogen peroxide generator has been developed by Telstar’s R&D team together with the sterilant manufacturer, to achieve optimal results of the process.

No preconditioning phase is required when standard indoor temperature and relative humidity are maintained.

Once the load of material is completed by one of the doors, it is possible to launch a bio decontamination cycle that allows the sterilisation of the chamber and the load, destroying proteins, carbohydrates and lipids on contact and kills biological agents including viruses, bacteria, and microbial spores. A minimum of 6 log reduction in spore forming micro-organisms validated using G. stearothermophilus biological indicators is guaranteed.

The SCADA control system of the unit allows generation of cycle reports, recipes management, different authorization levels, audit trail, current and historical alarms and real time and historical data trends.

A range of options and accessories, such as transfer trolleys, catalytic decomposition device, H₂O₂ room sensors for monitoring, carts, shelves, and services are available. A bio-decontamination cycle development completes this product.

Biological SAS

Equipment uniquely designed for the transfer of materials for biological neutralization of elements and bio-contaminated materials between different classified areas.

Pass-through hatch with an air-tight transfer chamber with an inflatable gasket, on-board fans, filtration system and interlocked doors, fitted to be connected to an external hydrogen peroxide generator as a bio-decontamination system.

Different configurations (3 doors, doors in L, etc.) are available on demand.

HEPA Filtered SAS

Pass-through hatch designed for the transfer of materials between different classified areas, with decontamination using HEPA filtered air.

With an air-tight transfer chamber, on-board fans, filtration system, UV lighting and interlocked doors, filtered air is provided to ensure a clean environment inside the chamber, before the opening of the opposite door.

Different configurations (3 doors, doors in L, etc.) are available on demand.

Pass Through SAS

Pass-through hatch designed for the transfer of materials between differently classified areas with no filtration system.

With an air-tight transfer chamber, UV lighting and interlocked doors provide a safe way for the transfer of documents and materials, which are subjected in a controlled time by UV light radiation inside the chamber, before the opening of the opposite door.
